उत्तराखंड की नई आबकारी नीति 2025 में कई महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव किए गए हैं। इस नीति के तहत धार्मिक स्थलों के पास शराब की दुकानों को बंद करने का निर्णय लिया गया है, इसके अलावा उप-दुकानों और मेट्रो मदिरा बिक्री व्यवस्था को समाप्त कर दिया गया है
नई नीति में अधिकतम खुदरा मूल्य (MRP) से अधिक कीमत वसूलने पर शराब की दुकान का लाइसेंस निरस्त करने का प्रावधान किया गया है,डिपार्टमेंटल स्टोर्स पर भी MRP लागू होगा, जिससे उपभोक्ताओं के हितों की रक्षा होगी
राज्य की नई आबकारी नीति के तहत, थोक मदिरा अनुज्ञापन केवल उत्तराखंड के निवासियों को ही जारी किए जाएंगे, जिससे राज्य में आर्थिक अवसर बढेंगे पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में राज्य में उत्पादित फलों से शराब बनाने वाली वाइनरी इकाइयों को अगले 15 वर्षों तक आबकारी शुल्क में छूट दी जाएगी

इसके अलावा, मदिरा उद्योग में निवेश को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए निर्यात शुल्क में कटौती की गई है,नई नीति में शराब की दुकानों की आवंटन प्रक्रिया को पूरी तरह निष्पक्ष और पारदर्शी बनाया गया है
आबकारी नीति-2025 में आमजन को मदिरा के दुष्प्रभावों के प्रति जागरूक करने के लिए विशेष अभियान चलाने का प्रावधान भी किया गया है

The new policy provides for cancellation of liquor shop license for charging more than the maximum retail price (MRP). MRP will also be applicable on departmental stores, which will protect the interests of consumers
Under the new excise policy of the state, wholesale liquor licenses will be issued only to residents of Uttarakhand, which will increase economic opportunities in the state. Winery units producing wine from fruits produced in the state in hilly areas will be exempted from excise duty for the next 15 years
Apart from this, export duty has been reduced to encourage investment in the liquor industry. The new policy has made the allocation process of liquor shops completely fair and transparent.
The Excise Policy-2025 also provides for running a special campaign to make the general public aware of the ill effects of alcohol
